Speed Sensors

VDO speed sensors in two groups. Pulse generators and speed impulse senders give the signal for electronic speedometers, tachometers and tachographs: 3-pin and 4-pin pulse generators with M22x1.5 male or female threads, and a 90 mm inductive impulse sender with an M18x1.5 thread. Wheel speed sensors replace the original ABS sensor on Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mini, Ford, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault and Volvo models.

For a gauge signal, match the connector, the thread and the gearbox or flywheel housing fitting. For a wheel speed sensor, match the part number or the car (make, model, engine and year) and check the cable length, since sensors for the same car often differ by cable length. Pulse generators are matched to the instrument by pulses per revolution, and the instrument is then calibrated to the vehicle.
