1. What this notice covers

1.1 This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies that omnipart.co.za uses, why, and how you control them. It adds to our Privacy notice (OMN-LEG-005), which sets out your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1.2 A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some are set by our own site; others are set by services we use, such as Google and Microsoft.

2. Your choice

2.1 The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics. "Accept analytics" and "Reject" are the same size and equally easy to choose. Closing or ignoring the banner leaves analytics off.

2.2 Until you click "Accept analytics":

(a) Google Analytics runs in Google's consent mode with analytics storage denied: it sets no analytics cookies and receives only a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed;

(b) Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all.

2.3 You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the website footer. If you withdraw consent, we stop the analytics tags and delete their cookies from our domain.

2.4 We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies, and we do not share your browsing with advertisers.

3. Cookies needed to run the shop

3.1 These are always on, because the shop cannot work without them. They need no consent.

3.2 The address form at checkout offers address suggestions from Google Maps. The text you type in the street field is sent to Google to find matching addresses. Google Maps sets no cookie on omnipart.co.za for this.

4. Analytics, only after you accept

4.1 Microsoft Clarity records how the page is used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) and builds heatmaps. Text you type into forms is hidden from the recording. We never see card details: payment happens on the payment provider's page.

4.2 Google and Microsoft process this data in the USA. See OMN-LEG-005 section 5 for the safeguards.

4.3 Google Analytics keeps data for the period set in our account, no more than 14 months. Clarity keeps recordings for 30 days and heatmaps for up to 13 months.

5. Controlling cookies in your browser

5.1 Besides the banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies in section 3, you cannot sign in or check out.

6. Contact

6.1 Questions about cookies or analytics go to the Information Officer at [email protected].
