1. Purpose and scope
1.1 This policy explains how Omnitronix (Pty) Ltd delivers goods sold under its Terms and conditions of sale (OMN-LEG-001), what delivery costs, how long it takes, and what to do if a parcel arrives damaged, short or not at all. It applies to orders placed with us directly and on omnitronix.co.za and omnipart.co.za.
1.2 We deliver within South Africa only. We send goods outside South Africa only on a written quote, and the customer pays the freight, duties and taxes of the destination country.
2. Couriers we use
2.1 We ship only with the couriers in the table below, booked through our own courier system so every parcel has a waybill number and a tracking link.
| COURIER | SERVICES | AUTOMATIC COVER |
|---|---|---|
| MDS Collivery | Same Day, Overnight Express, Economy (2 to 3 days) and Road Freight | R 10 000 per parcel, included in the MDS rate |
| The Courier Guy, booked through Bob Go | Local and national services, including the Local Priority Flyer for small items | R 1 000 per parcel |
| Fastway, booked through Bob Go | Local and national services | As set by Bob Go and Fastway for the service booked |
2.2 We choose the courier and service that suit the size, value and destination of the parcel, unless you ask for a specific service and pay any difference in cost.
2.3 Small items may travel in the courier's own flyer bag rather than a box. We pack every parcel to protect the goods for the journey.
3. Delivery charges
3.1 Delivery is charged separately at the rate on your quote, invoice or the website checkout. On omnipart.co.za, delivery by MDS Overnight Express or MDS Economy is free on orders of R 5 000 or more (goods total, excluding delivery); other services are charged at the rate shown at checkout. Otherwise you pay the delivery charge unless we have agreed in writing to deliver free of charge.
3.2 If you arrange your own courier, you book and pay that courier directly, and the goods are at your risk from the moment your courier collects them.
4. Dispatch and delivery times
4.1 We dispatch an order once it is paid in full, with the money reflecting in our account, and the goods are ready to send. Many parts are ordered in from our suppliers for your order, so we confirm the expected dispatch date by email after you order, and send tracking details when the parcel is booked.
4.2 Delivery times are the courier's estimates, not guaranteed dates. Couriers do not deliver on weekends or public holidays.
| SERVICE | USUAL DELIVERY TIME |
|---|---|
| Same Day | The same business day within the same metro, where the courier offers it and the booking is made before the courier's cut-off |
| Overnight Express | The next business day between main centres |
| Economy | Usually 2 to 3 business days; the courier's estimate for the route is given when we book |
| Road Freight | Longer than Economy, for heavy or bulky parcels; the courier's estimate is given when we book |
4.3 Outlying and regional areas take longer than the times above. For example, an Overnight Express parcel booked on a Friday to Worcester in the Western Cape may arrive on the Tuesday.
4.4 Special orders and imported goods are dispatched when they arrive from our supplier. We give you the supplier's estimated date, which can change.
4.5 We send you the waybill number and tracking link by email when the parcel is booked. Use the tracking link for the latest status, or contact us if it has not moved for two business days.
5. Collection
5.1 You may collect paid orders from 60 6th Street, Linden, Johannesburg, on a business day by arrangement with [email protected] or 011 568 9948.
5.2 The person collecting must show the order or invoice number and identification. If someone collects for you, send us their name by email before they arrive.
6. When the parcel arrives
6.1 Check the outer packaging before you sign. If it is torn, crushed, wet or opened, write that on the courier's proof of delivery before you sign, take a photograph, and keep all the packaging.
6.2 Open the parcel as soon as you can and check the goods against the invoice.
6.3 Tell us about visible damage, a short delivery or the wrong goods within two business days of delivery, by email to [email protected] with your invoice number and photographs. Couriers set short time limits for claims, and late reports can lose the claim.
6.4 If you are a consumer, reporting late does not take away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Goods that are defective, or that are not what you ordered, are still dealt with under OMN-LEG-003 and OMN-LEG-004.
7. Risk and ownership in transit
7.1 For consumers, the goods remain at our risk until you have accepted delivery (CPA s19). If a parcel to a consumer is lost or damaged in transit, we replace the goods or refund you.
7.2 For business customers, risk passes when we hand the parcel to the courier (OMN-LEG-001 clause 6.6). We still lodge the claim with the courier for you, follow it up, and pay you what the courier pays on the claim, up to the price you paid for the goods.
7.3 Ownership of the goods passes only when we have been paid in full (OMN-LEG-001 clause 7).
8. Cover above the automatic amount
8.1 Each courier's automatic cover is shown in clause 2.1. A claim above that amount is limited to the cover in place, unless extra cover was bought.
8.2 For goods worth more than the automatic cover, ask us to add extra cover before dispatch. We quote the courier's charge for it, and you pay that charge. We declare the true value of the goods on the waybill.
9. Lost and delayed parcels
9.1 If tracking shows no movement for two business days, or the delivery date has passed, we open a trace with the courier.
9.2 If the parcel has not been found after ten business days of tracing, or the courier confirms it is lost, we treat it as lost.
9.3 For a consumer, we then send replacement goods or refund you in full, at your choice.
9.4 For a business customer, we lodge the courier claim and, as soon as the courier accepts it, send replacement goods or refund you up to the amount the cover allows. We may agree to replace goods before the claim is paid.
9.5 Every lost or misrouted parcel is recorded and investigated by us. If a courier repeatedly fails, we stop using it.
10. Failed delivery and redelivery
10.1 Make sure the delivery address is complete and that someone can receive the parcel on business days during working hours.
10.2 If delivery fails because the address was wrong or incomplete, nobody was available, or the parcel was refused without good reason, the courier may return it or hold it at its depot. We pass on the courier's charge for redelivery or return to you, at our cost with no handling fee, and dispatch again once it is paid.
10.3 If delivery fails because of our error or the courier's, we pay for the redelivery.
